In the 1861 census in Kirkoswald there is a Fergus Harvie m. age 45 ploughman
with wife Jean age 46 (this is Jane Morrison who he married in 27/11/1841 in
Maybole) and children Jane 16, Fergus 13, Samuel 13, Elizabeth 11, and Mary
7. Fergus was from Kirkmichael where I beleive he had an illegitimate son
William Harvie b. 1838.
Is this the your family? It is not my line but one that I looked into for
someone else.
