"Fenwick October 27th 1836

The united assoceate Session of Fenwick met in the Session house and was
Constiuted by the Rev William Orr moderator with praise and prayer and was
Suceeded in the same exceries by Alexr Watt were present along with them
John & Thomas Taylor and John Gemmil Compeared James Taylor and his wife and
acknowledged that they were guilty of antinuptional fornacation and after a
few questons being put to them by the Moderator Respecting the nature of Sin
the Session was Satisfied with there answers but James Stated that he could
not comply with the Disipline of this Church in its present form the Session
Recomended them to take it (into) consideration for ? ? Compeared Agness
Gemmil in Moor and acknowledged that she was guilty of fornacation with
James Laird and produced a Certificate from James Laird acknowledging
himself the father of her child the Moderator put a few questons to her on
the nature of Sin Session was Satisfied with her answers but from the
fewness of these members Delayed fixing the Day when she should make her
appearance before the Congregation
