Hi Laura

Had a look through "British Army Pensioners abroad". No sign of any
Millars in the 71st getting a pension. Only Millar that had a connection
with Canada was a Wm MILLAR of the Rifle Brigade who was awarded a
pension 1852, died 14 Feb 1884, Toronto. This of course looks too late.

I checked the MILLERs as well, no Matthews. Looks like he got discharged
without a pension.
