Hi

I think you have put me out of my misery with the book given below.

I am researching the name TANNAHILL and in one of the Scottish surname
books (Blacks ??) they state that in 1547 there were seven TANNAHILL
families in Kilmarnock, no source was given. I have looking for years
off and on where that info came from. Now I think you have cracked it
for me.

And another thing I just looked on-line at our Victorian State Library
Catalogue in Melbourne,VIC,AUS and lo and behold what do I find :-

==================

The history of Kilmarnock.

Author / Creator: MacKay, A.
Edition: 3rd ed.
Imprint / Date: 1864.
Holdings Information:
Call #: S 941.42 M19 In Location:MAIN LIBRARY-STACK-CALL SLIP

Is this R.G.Boyd selling this book ????

I know where I am going tomorrow night ? The moral of this story check
your local repositories, you never know what you will find !

Thanks

Maurie
