Hi all,
Sarah McCall and John Murray had six children as follows:

- James Murray born about 1833 in Wanlockhead

- Sarah Murray born March 4, 1835 in Wanlockhead

- William Murray born about 1838 in Wanlockhead

- John Murray born 1841 in Wanlockhead

- Alexander Murray born 1843 in Wanlockhead

- Williamson Murray born 1846 in Wanlockhead

I have no other information on these children, but I assume they are not
buried at Meadowfoot. I gather from some comments, only three children are
shown on another source.
I'm working on proving that George McCall and possibly William McCall lost
their work as tenants at Guffolkland and moved to Wanlockhead to work in the
lead mines.
One of the interesting persons at this time was Rev. Peter Rae who was the
last minister of Kirkbride, high above Enterkinfoot. He was a publisher of
the Dumfries Mercury, a fine clockmaker, and the superintendent at the Lead
Mines. He was minister in Kirkconnel until he died in 1749. He would have
known all the McCalls and I presume he is on this new CD for Kirkconnel
Parish Cemetery
I ordered " Kirkconnel; A Pictorial Picture" from the D&G FHS and expect
to order Meadowfoot, Penpont and Kirkconnel Cemeteries next.
Many of the folks at Wanlockhead are thought to have come from
Crawfordjohn. Last nite on Ayrshire rootsweb site Patricia Terpstra was
running Excerpts from the Registry of Rev. John McMillan, Covenanter. He was
in Braehead but was baptizing folks from Sanquhar, Crawfordjohn and Middleby
Parish. I've followed this series for some time and haven't seen Mccalls, but
lots of other names. Pat's at ().
