James Crawford was my grandfather. It is said that he and his four brothers
who were alive during Queen Victoria's reign and who were all over six
feet in height were referred to as the "30 FEET of CRAWFORDS." I do not
know when he came to the us, but he died on a farm near Crockett, Texas
in 1940, I believe. My husband and I will be in Scotland for a meeting
in Edinburgh in June. I'd like to visit his home, school, and the like,
if possible.
