These are some of the head stone in section A of the High Kirk in Stevenston:

Erected by James Boyd in memory of his wife Mary May Pennelld. 9 May 1835 age
31 years and 10 mths. Also their son John d. 25 March 1832age 3 mths. And 17
days also his daughter Mary d. 18 Nov. 1850 age 6.1/2 alsohis wife Mary
Woodside d. 17 March 1886 in her 80th year. The above James Boyd d. 14 June
1891 in his85th year also their daughter Marion Boyd who died at Lowell
Mass.U.S.A. 5 July 1895 in her 40th year.

1836 age 30 years. Theabove John Brunton departed this life 29 March 1856

mths. The above Mary Reid d. 23 Feb. 1843 in the48th year of her age.

Stevenston Colliery for the period of 40 years who died 19March 1851 aged 64
and of their sons James and John who died in infancyt andtheir daughter Mary
died in infancy.
