Hi Andrew,

Your G-grandmother Agnes b. 1853 and her brother William b 1852 arrived in
Adelaide South Australia on the vessel Joseph Rowan in 1854 along with their
parents James HOSE and Mary SMELLIE who were married August 18, 1850 in
Dalmellington, Ayrshire, James was the son of Andrew HOSE and Isabella DUFF.
In 1961 the family moved to the town of Stawell in Victoria.

I'm a descendant of William Hose (brother of James) who remained in Scotland.
I
was aware of the Smith connection through an obituary but have not researched
it. I have further details on this family.

I'm trying to trace my G-Grandmother, the only infromation I have on her,
is she was born abt. 1854 in Ayrshire, Scotland. She moved to Melbourne,
Victoria. Australia.

I have no idea why see came...

She married James William Smith, on 9 March 1874, in St Arnaud, Victoria.
Australia. They had nine children.
