These type of searches are easily done on the LDS site, www.familysearch.org

Agnes Hose was christened at Dalmellington, a town about 15 miles SE of Ayr,
on April 3 1853, the child of James Hose and Mary Smellie. James and Mary
were married in Dalmellington on Aug 18, 1850.

That is straight off the IGI (International Genealogical Index), probably
your best tool for rough draft research. See some of the hints on research
in Ayrshire at "GENUKI" and "AyrshireRoots"
