Looking for any info on the family of my great grandfather William Blair
Hunter, Born in Irvine in 1864. His father was James Hunter, a goldsmith,jeweller,horsebroker;
his mother was Jane Blair. Other than alot of speculation this is really
all I know for certain. That and the claims my grandfather Hunter made
that " they were all a bunch o' horsethieves!" Of couse I don't believe
that! I speculate that Jane Blair was the child of David Blair, a butcher,(born
18 Nov. 1802 in kilmarnock) and Jane Newlands. And that James Hunter was
the child of James Hunter and Mary Wyllie(married 14 sept. 1795)
