The name of the place is Riccarton, it is a district in Kilmarnock and
still exists. Galston is about five miles from Kilmarnock and Muirkirk is
in the hills between Kilmarnock and Ayr. It wouldn't be too much of a move
for that time. The marriage certificates give you the name and address of
the people marrying, plus their age, plus their parents name, plus their
occupation, it also gives you a witness name, which in those days was
nearly always a relative. I have Whytes of Kilmarnock in my tree, spelt
the same but I think the ages are wrong. Hope this is of a help
