Hi Everyone,

A few weeks ago, I was sifting through some old books belonging to my
grandparents. Many of them had names inside relating to the family and they
provided some lovely information about my ancestors. One however is a
mystery to me and to my grandparents.

It is a book called "The Earnest Communicant" which , according to it's
preface, is "a corse of preparation for the Lord's Table, by the Rev. Ashton
Oxenden, D.D. Bishop of Montreal and metropolitan of Canada." It was
published in London in 1875.

On the inside front cover there is a handwritten message which I think
reads:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jekla Klaudym Malczewska
March 15th 1877
H R Dunlop
So run that ye may obtain
1st Cor 9thch 24thV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am at a loss to explain it. We do not have, as far as I know, any Polish
relatives (I think the first line is a Polish woman's name) nor any
relatives by the name of Dunlop.. I know Dunlop is a Scottish name which I
think originates from around Ayr. But apart from that I'm completely
clueless.

Any ideas, info or advice as to who might own a book like that, who the
people named might be and what the date might refer to would be very
gratefully received!

Thanks,

Daisy
