1870-80.Particularly the Gilmour element.They built Meadowside Cottages in
Sorn.(amongst other things)I believe they were origonally Mineral Miners who

I have extensive notes on my own branch of the Gilmour family which owned
many of the pits in Ayrshire if anyone wants me to send an attached file.

Of course I come from the younger, poorer branch! but my mother can remember
the last of the line, the Misses Gilmour, coming to visit her at Christmas in
the 1920s and giving her a whole pound.
