My grandmother left a cryptic note with my uncle regarding our ancestry,
and he couldn't recall what it meant (before his death). It said
"Pollock of Mearns." I don't know if the Pollocks came from Mearns or
were still there when she wrote it. In order to be relatives, they
probably married a STEWART, CRAIG, or CLARK.

If you're doing POLLOCK research, and you come across such a marriage
pre-1830, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
