Hello All I am new to this list which I have joined in the hope that I might get a clue as to the HAMILTION family of Maybole. My search for John HAMILTON and his family have uncovered the 1891 census at Carlisle as below. CARLISLE. Wetheral Pasture 1891 John Hamilton Head Mar 32 Ag Lab Scotland. Maybol (b 1858) Jane Hamilton Wife Mar 25 Scotland.Annan George T Hamilton son 1 Cumb.Workington James Hamilton son 1 Mth Cumb.Wetheral The wife Jane was Jane TURNBULL but the marriage not yet traced. And the T in young George's name is also Turnbull. I had thought that the 1861 census at Maybole should show John there age about 3 or 4. But no luck. I would be most grateful for any sighting or info on this family. The 1861 census details which I extracted, and may be of use to someone are as follows.
