Hello Patricia,

Do I understand correctly that your Robert McClymont disappeared? If so could he be the same Robert McClymont who sailed to Buenos Aires in 1825, (age given as 26) along with a John MITCHELL, butcher, aged 25 as a founder member of what was intended to become the commercial Scottish Colony of Monte Grande? Both became prominent members of the Scottish community in Buenos Aires. Hundreds of others from Ayrshire and Lanarks joined them either then or later.

I have lots of info on this.

Alexander McCLYMONT md. Lilias WALLET 5 July 1788 Dalmellington, Ayr.
Son Robert MCCLYMONT christened 10 Feb 1796 in Dalmellington.
Married Margaret MacMURTRIE 16 Jul 1824.
Son Alexander McCLYMONT christened 25 Feb 1828 in Dalmellington.
Married Jane HASTIE 2 June 1848
son Alexander born 5 May 1849 in Dalmellington
daughter Margaret born 17 Oct 1858
daughter Joan christened 2 Oct 1853
Alexander married Janet McMILLAN
son Hugh born 26 July 1875 in Dalmellington. married 30 Dec 1898 to Rachel
CLARKE MITCHELL.

I am seeking information on the Mitchell family and any other descendants of
all the Alexander's, and Robert. I plan on returning to the FHC and looking
for further information. There is quite a bit of McClymont, so I didn't even
have time to get to Mitchell!
I am also interested in any HASTIE MacMURTRIE or WALLET
speaking of.. Does Anyone have any WALLET? I can't find it in my Clan
Histories surname index, or anywhere else!
