Subject: WHERE IS PARK? NINIAN ANDERSON?
Date: Thu, 15 Oct 1998 23:40:03 -0700 (PDT)
Hi fellow list members,
I have recently found a name on the 1872 Death Index that might be one of my
ancestors but I am having difficulty getting a copy of the original to
verify the fact. The problem is that the index states that the death was
registered in 'Park'. I can find no registration district of this name nor
anything remotely similar. I considered mispellings and partial names with
no luck. Without knowing the district and its number I cannot locate a film
number with the original entry on it.
The death index for 1872 was printed rather than hand written so there is no
question of illegibility.
The entry that interests me is the death of a Ninian ANDERSON. I have a
line in my tree where this name appears every other generation (father's
father's name). The family lived in Darvel, Loudoun, Ayrshire, until the
mid 1800's and then relocated to Kilmarnock. If I am on the right track the
registration district of 'Park' might have been in Ayrshire.
If you have knowledge of where 'Park' is or can offer a good guess I would
like to hear from you. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Margaret
