Hello Everyone,

HANNAH, MURDOCH, COULTER, BRUCE, McLEAN, LANSBOROUGH
Having read, on our D & G sister list, of a successful contact in New Zealand,
I am tempted to try my luck with this.....

I am particularly interested in making contact with descendants of the HANNAH family in Australia. Apart from this message, you will find some more connections on my Web Site
<http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~belgae>;

John HANNAH and Janet MURDOCH of Ballantrae, Ayrshire, Scotland.
John was a fisherman and was drowned in Loch Ryan during a violent storm in 1883 together with John COULTER from the same parish.
The body of John was never recovered from the loch.
Janet died at Ballantrae in 1901, and is interred in the cemetery there.
A sinking fishing boat is depicted on the sandstone headstone.
A brother William, and a sister Ann, of James HANNAH below are also interred there.

I seek their descendants who emigrated to Australia .....
James HANNAH, b.7/1/1856 Ballantrae, Ayrshire. Fisherman.
Two possibilities so far for his wife are.....
Elizabeth BRUCE or Jane McLEAN

His children are reported to be.....
David, Jessica, Helen, Annie, James, Jean.
Annie married William LANSBOROUGH 1918 in Sydney and subsequently returned to UK sometime.

As for the date, I hesitate to say - so much hearsay is misleading - but they emigrated from about 1900 (perhaps) . Unless, that is, you know better?

Best Regards
Len Knott
