Thankyou kindly to Tim Millar, Murray H H Reid and Martyn Taylor
for their assistance on the above.
I conclude that the term 'Van of The Scots' as mentioned in the undated
newspaper article meant that the 5 Hodge boys were amongst the first
of a mass migration from Scotland to England (1900's).
Any suggestions as to the reason for this migration?
