Dear Arlene,

there is at least one thesis ("Doktorarbeit" or "Dissertation" for the degree of doctor philosophiae) about that factoy by Rudolf M. Buchner: Fabriksarbeit und Leben in einer weststeirischen Stadt unter dem Einfluß der Deutschlandsberger Zündholzfabrik 1856-1983. - Graz: Universität, Dissertation 1996, 303 pages (you can get the book via "Fernleihe" - I think in English that's interlibrary loan - or maybe or a photocopy of it from the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek or from the Universitätsbiblothek Graz; more on that for instance via http://www.bibvb.ac.at/verbund-opac.htm - there go for the libraries' homepages).

A chapter on that Solo-factory (with photographs) is also in Helmut Lackner - Gerhard A. Stadler: Fabriken in der Stadt. Eine Industriegeschichte der Stadt Linz. - Linz: Archiv der Stadt Linz 1990, pages 405-410 (the same company also had a factory in the Upper-Austrian capital: that one working from 1885 to 1972; the one in Deutschlandsberg was untl the early 20th century run by company Pojatzi & Co. - quite a complicated story of structural changes, but quite well documented by Lackner-Stadler).
