Phyllis, The first thing you need to do is make a list of all you know about
your
grandparents and then what you want to know.
For example if your parents are still living they may be able to tell you
dates of'
immigration, port of arrival, siblings of your grandparents etc.
If you are near an LDS church with a Family History Library they will be of
invalueable help getting you started with rental of microfilms for the areas
that you
want to begin with such as naturalization records, immigration records etc.
Your grandfather's death certificate is probably the singular most valuable
document
at this point if he died in this country. If your parent's aren't living it
can tell you the
names or at least the name of your greatgrandfather and possibly even the town
where your grandfather was born.
Good luck,
Colleen Freidberg
