Hello to each of you ! I am new to genealogical research and new to
posting on this list.

My late, paternal grandfather came to the United States with his mother
as a little baby (so I was told many years ago) from Austria. He was
born February 21, 1876.

I had heard Vienna mentioned when I was very young, but I do not know if
this is the part of
Austria from which he comes, or if it was in reference to something
else.

Another story says there were two "f's" on the end of our name, although
I personally only know
of one.

Has anyone heard of this name -- or could you suggest where I might
start? I believe the two of them came by boat......but I do not know to
what port.
