Hi Michele

To start with you can go to the Australian War Memorial Databases and search
for some basic information on your person. The URL is
http://www.awm.gov.au/database/
If the person you are researching was killed in action you can usually
obtain a bit more detail by searching in the "Roll of Honour" Database.
Otherwise select the "First World War Nominal Roll" database and this should
give you enough basic information to be able to apply for a copy of your
persons dossier.

You can order a copy of the World War I Dossier directly over the internet
from this link
http://www.naa.gov.au/index.htm
the cost is $15.00 and you can elect either to pay over the internet by
credit card or they will send you an invoice when they send you the
information.

Hope this helps :-)
