The Victoria Survey was yet another of the small towns around Port
Albert/Alberton. John Adams in "From these Beginnings" indicates it was a
northerly extension of Alberton, and the first lots were sold in Melbourne
in 1843.

On p.77 of Adams there is photograph captioned "First St Luke's, Alberton",
which would indicate it has been replaced. It was opened in 1863, so would
surely be the one in which your peole were married in 1870.

This would probably be the Flynn's Creek in the area known as Flynn between
Rosedale and Traralgon.
I think I have mentioend before that "From These Beginnings" is one fo the
best references on early Port Albert/Alberton etc, and also useful as a
general history of early Gippsland. For availability ring the Wellington
Shire, Freecall 1300 366 244 during office hours.
