Hello Listers
Does anyone share an interest in, or have information about, the LUKSIC/
LUSSICH surname?
They were Croatian immigrants to the Bellarine peninsular. Brothers
Dominick & John arrived during the 1850's & became fisherman out of
Portarlington & Geelong East. John married widow Mary WILSON (maiden
name ABBERTON or EBBERTON) in 1871, & Dominick married Kate O'CONNOR in
1867. They are buried in the LUSSICH family plot at Geelong E Cemetery,
Catholic section (can anyone take a headstone pic for me?). There were
other LUSSICH's whose relationship I have yet to establish.
I've gleaned this information from the book "Croatians in Australia" by
Ilija Sutalo & from the Vic BMD CDs.
