Subject: [GEELONG] ONDIT [Vic] Memorial & Information - RANKIN-CAMPBELL & Inverleigh

For anyopne who may be researching this little spot in Victoria, I
visited the area yesterday, Sept 23 2002. I was specifically
researching the surnames of RANKIN & Campbell but found some memorials
also which I've transcribed [and taken photo's of, please contact me
off-list if you would like copies]. Ondit is between Colac & Beeac, and
there is "Nothing" there apart from a road sign, however I did locate
[by accident] an area set up as the "Ondit Memorial School Ground" where
I transcribed information from an epitaph, also visited the
Ondit-Cundare Cemetery which is about 8-9 Km past the township of Ondit.
Visit to Ondit - Cundare Public Cemetery September 22 2002-09-23 Church
of England Section Two burials in one plot--- In fond memory of Ewen
Rankin who died at Strathcona, Cundare 10th July 1910 aged 72 years,
erected by his loving wife and family Also in memory of Duncan Alex
Rankin beloved son of the late Ewen Rankin died at Strathcona 28 Oct
1913 aged 33 years.
Erected by Alice Omega, In fond rememberence of her loving husband Angus
Rankin who died 25th April 1892 aged 48 years also their infant daughter
Annie Gertrude who died 21st September 1890 aged 10 weeks.
In fond memory of Sarah, fourth daughter of Donald & Mary Rankin died at
Invergie Cundare 14 sep 1903 [could be 19] at 19 years.
