Thanks Andrew for your ideas.

Where at Adelaide Uni is the archival section? I'm in Brisbane, but next
time I am down I will give it a go.

Regards

Doug

Hi Doug

South Australia has a good collection of School Admission Registers. Most
of the originals are now at State Records, but the SAGHS has a good
collection of fiche copies, together with those they have filmed that are
still at the School. If you have a copy of 'Sources for SA History' there
is a list of the Registers and where they can be found. The problems is
that these are a chronological list of enrollments, rather than a list of
particular classs. These type of records have not survived. The other
problem will be whether the Privacy Police will allow you to look at what I
guess are relatively recent records.

The University of Adelaide has its own Archival service and I have found
them to be very helpful, at least for personal visitation. I don't know
whether they have 'class lists', I suspect not. They would have graduation
lists, which have been published in the annual calendars. It should be
possible to get a photocopy of the relevant graduation lists and if you get
a year or so before and after your own graduation, you would probably have
the bulk of those you were at university with, less those that were'3Ced',
ie failed and left.
