Well,
after a new meeting with a new cousin on my Davey side this afternoon and
exchanging birth death and marriages and old photos... and me saying "You
know there were 20 children of Lavina and Richard Henry Davey...one that I
just can't find .. her name is Florence.. and she was born around 1879.. I
know this because she was listed on her mothers death certificate.. along
with all the surviving children including one of the girls called Matilda
May Davey born 1882.. Seems that Matilda May was also called Florence ( a
nick name as if Matilda May was not pretty enough). so there you go.. there
never was a Florence and thats why all you good kind people who went hunting
for her for me.. could not find her.
"Moral of the story - never believe all you find on a death certificate or
for that matter any official document because depending on who said what to
whom and who wanted to hide someone or an early birth outside of marriage or
a murder.... well!! end of moral of story".
