I have seen the history of Coromandel Valley and Blackwood area before


I " think" Frank's son may have died in the Sturt Creek , which can turn to torrents in winter time up there , I myself remeber the Sturt Creek and the dam very well , and the Sturt Creek could be dangerous in winter when flowing torrents ,

hence Frank building the Smithy's dam as we called it , then had it changed to Memorial for John
