Hello Everyone,
I would be very interested in making contact with anyone who may be
researching the SMART family in South Australia.
I am researching the family of my father-in-law William Alfred SMART who
died in New Zealand in 1978.
I have requested a copy of his Birth Certificate from SA Births Deaths &
Marriages, hopefully they can find one.
Bill's details are as follows.
Born 14 May 1918, listed on his New Zealand Marriage certificate as being
born in Adelaide Australia. Family anecdotal evidence has it that he was
one of a twin, not sure whether twin is still living. There is also strong
anecdotal evidence that he lived in or around Hope Valley, other suggestions
have been that his surname may be a variation on Droit (??), or similiar.
I am hoping that we may be able to make contact with family members as my
wife knows nothing of her Grandparents or Uncles / Aunts from her father's
family.
