I am researching the BROSTER and BILLING families and was surprised to see
the Given Name "Mehetabel" for one child in 1891. All other children had
"normal" names, and although this family was known to be deeply religious
(Bible Christian) they had only previously used names common in the family.
Is this a Biblical or Religious name? It does not appear to be Jewish.
A search of the 1842-1916 Marriage CD is interesting in that there is a
family FREESTUN, where their son married Mehetabell SEALY in a private home,
and their daughter Mehetabel, married Bertie NEVILLE in Church of Christ
Tabernacle, Norwood. What religion would the Tabernacle have been?
Any information on this "odd" name would be appreciated.
