This is ineresting readung as my mother had always told everyone she was
married during WW2 but failed to say that it was not to my father. In actual
fact they did not get married until 3 months before my baby sister was
born - some 10 years after my arrival and 15 years after the end of WW2. I
found this all out when I had to get a full birth certificate when I was in
my early 20's.
So these type of cover ups still went on up into the late 60's - early 70's
