Unfortunately the Privacy Law has been issued and was not done with
Genealogy in mind but never-the-less we are affected. One problem has been
is that much information has been published on the web or made its way to
publicly available sources without permission. I have found information on
myself and tree which has been uploaded on the web without my
knowledge. One person, I know sit a wobbly when they found information on
them and their tree listed without their permission; I have been doing my
best to talk them out of taking action which would have far reaching
affects to us all. Their legal recourse was there before the legislation
but it adds weight.

People should now be very careful of putting information on the web without
approval. I would not be smart to send information on living people
without permission. Those interested in Genealogy are unlikely to withhold
permission.

THE BIG CONCERN is what reaction and hindrance will occur from various
authorities in releasing data like you mention. That is where the real
concern lies an where we need to monitor and if necessary pressure the
Government
