Hello

We are new to the list so hope what we are asking is in order.

We have a relative (Patrick Clifford) who was a corporal in
the 40th Regiment of foot.

We have sighted his death certificate which says he died on
10th February, 1862 in the barracks in Adelaide (of apoplexy).
We presume the barracks were on Kintore Avenue.

Does anyone have any idea where he would be buried? He is
catholic. He had a wife and children here in Adelaide.
Is he likely to have been buried in an area set aside for
the Regiment, either in a cemetery or near the barracks?

We have searched the net for information on the Regiment but
can find nothing associated with their time in Adelaide. I
thought at that time they were in NZ fighting so am unsure
why Patrick would still be here.

We would be very grateful for any suggestions.

Kind Regards

Jill and Trevor
