Just on an off chance, I checked the Biog. Index of SA, and find that an Issac
POOL arrived in SA in 1848 aboard the BUSSORAH MERCHANT: m: unknown ch: 6 (by 1848-).
This should indicate that he was married and had 6 children with him on the
ship on arrival.
As the names of spouse and children are not given, I guess they were not
listed on the passenger list that was available at the time the book was compiled.
