Hi everyone,
can any one tell me if there is any record of births in South Australia
before 1842 and if so how can I access them from outside South Australia. I
am looking for a Bridget DOYLE b c 1840 father James Doyle.
At my library here in Queensland we have the emigration details for
passengers to SA before 1842 but it is only the embarkation papers and not
the actual shipping record. I did find a James DOYLE here age 20 years, wife
(no name) age 19 years from Gorbals (I think in Scotland). They applied for
passage in 1840. Is there any way of finding out if they actually arrived
and perhaps if they had a baby by this time i.e. my Bridget.
Okay - you can see I'm getting desperate and clutching at straws!! I can
find only two Bridget Doyles arriving in the recorded shipping lists that we
have on fiche but both are no where near the right age
Thanks
