Does anyone have access to ships passenger lists.

My great grandfather George Powell Winter was supposed to have either been born at sea between England and adelaide or in Procklington England. Docs I have are conflicting on this issue as well as to when he may have been born. Possibles are 1840, 1845, 1847 or 1849. His father was an unknown gentleman (some gentleman!!!) and his mother a gentlewoman - unknown Powell. George Winter was married in 1874 in NSW to Margaret Evelyn Bain

Re: Margaret Evelyn Bain - her parents were John Bain and Elizabeth Herbert of Kilkenny Ireland according to Margaret's second marraiage cert. No records of John and Elizabeth in Ireland. Did they come to Aus with their daughter??? questions questions questions! If anyone finds anything on these names could they let me know please.
