Hi Colleen

My John McPherson THOMPSON was in the 50th Battalion - Enlisted 16/8/1915 - Returned to Australia 2/4/1919. He spent 6 months in Hard Labour as he was court martialled for disobeying a direct order whilst on active service. Although I emailed the AG's Department several months ago I have not heard back - I was chasing a copy of the Court Martial Papers so that I would know "what" the direct order was. On his release he returned to the Unit and was soon promoted to Sergeant. I have his Personal Dosier from National Archives. Is there anything in particular that you wanted to know....??
