Now, on the Schooner "Waterlily",

She has been listed as visiting Adelaide in 1848, 1849, & 1850.

1848...Schooner "Waterlily", 155nm, South Stockton, Co York,
1839, George Gwatkin.
Arrived, 26 June from Hobart; Cargo raisins, apples, Timber & Rope,
Passengers included J.T. Waterhouse.

Departed, 9 July, to Sydney, Cargo, copper ore, bags and rope,
Passenger, J Waterhouse.

Arrived , 7th December, from Swan River, Cargo coals, pitch,
Kangaroo Skins, & Sandalwood, Passengers including F.Le Messurier,

Cleared 9th December for Hobart, some original Cargo from Swan River.

1849....
Arrived 24/25 January, from Hobart, Hardware and iron bars,
Passengers including Doctor Story...

Departed 20 February, to Swan River ( arrived there, 4th March),
then to Mauritius, with Flour, beef & timber from Hobart, 2 Passengers.


1850.....
Left Hobart 22 February, arrived 4th March, Cargo of Laths, Varnish,
6 Passengers.

Departed 17 March for Hobart..
Arrived Hobart 25 March----11 may.
Departed for Tahiti,
Arrived 26 June,
Departed for California, with stores, 5 Passengers @ 10 crew...

Gail, from my reading of this it looks like she is a trading vessle, rather than
a specific ship for Immigrants, and I think your Mr Frederick John Simpson,
could easily have been a passenger, as they don't list them unfortunately,
but I would suspect that he picked it up from other parts of Australia, it could
have been from Swan River, as thats where she came from on the 7th of
December, 1848, ( I dont know where Swan River is, Tasmania?)...
he probably migrated there on another Ship....

It's all good fun....
