Hi Listers,
am new to this list and am researching families of Drefke and Boettcher
mainly in the Mitcham area of Adelaide. The family emigrated in 3 shifts
between 1878 and 1883 from Lauenberg Pommern. Have gathered quite a bit of
info already, but I sent a request to a lady in Mitcham on a Mitcham web
site who wrote there was a book on Mitcham history but I got no reply.I am
interested on info on the quarry workers as my ggrandfather was injured
there and one of his sons died in an explosion.I am also interested on what
my grandma did after deserting the Lutheran Church and joining the
Anglicans. Grandma's name was Anna Dorothy Marie Drefke b. 1886 . Family
tales tell me that she was a lady's companion and learnt to paint.
Would love to hear from others interested in these names. We also
established connection to the names of Bliss and Bergstrom in S.A.
