Hi all, I agree Jeanne it is a wonderful list to belong to.
I am having lousy luck so it seems appropriate to again enquire if anyone
has any info re HAYNES in South Australia. I am still seeking Charles John
Haynes, wife Agnes Mary Ann nee Courtoy and children Charles John, Agnes
Mary Ann, Eliza Louise, Annie, Emiline, Giscelia and Matthew Courtoy. They
were friendly with a Mr Lowson, who may have ended up in NSW owning a
tobacco plantation? - heresay, and were in SA, then Vic until 1865,
returning to Adelaide/Beverly/Hindmarsh. They were also related to Matthew
Thomlinson Combe and his family in Victoria, 1850s onwards and who it seems
stayed in Bendigo region when the Haynes went back to SA. Possible that
Charles John the junior stayed behind in Victoria too.
oooohhh how nice it would be if someone knew something!!! Chasing ghosts is
not a lot of fun sometimes.
Judy
