Hi Judy,
just read your message about Haynes in SA. In particular the deaths of
the two kids on Port Road, Adelaide, living with Mr Lowson.

There were a lot of deaths around the 1860's from dyptheria - some
cemeteries here, especially the smaller ones have dozens of kids dying
in the same time frame, which leads one to look for reasons, and from my
research, it seems that there was something of an epidemic of it at that
time.

Try looking for Lowson and Lawson living of Port Road in 1863 in the
electoral rolls. But look for Port Road at Hindmarsh, as Port Road is in
Hindmarsh (suburb), and was then too, as opposed to Adelaide itself.
