Complementing the recent release of indexes of New South Wales
Government Gazettes and Queensland Police Gazettes is the Gazette
Digitisation Project of Archive CD Books Australia.

Commencement has been made on the following series, with a further 10-15
releases expected each month. They are being published on CD-ROM as
individual years and as compendium sets of 5 or 10 years. All text is
fully searchable.

Government Gazettes
-------------------
From 4 to 9 years are currently available for each state except WA. It
is planned to digitise all 19th century Australian Government Gazettes.

Police Gazettes
---------------
- NSW - 21 years available now - 51 years available to us at present
- Qld - first releases due May - entire series available to approx 1940
- SA - 10 years available now - entire series available to approx 1945
- Vic - 5 years available now - 52 years available to us at present

Check if your local society or library has these. Many are now acquiring
complete series for their own state or nationally.

Government and especially Police Gazettes contain a vast amount of
genealogical and historical information. This is being made readily
available to researchers for the first time.
