The following obituary was placed on the Sebastian, Co., AR list by Carolyn
(Parsons) Smedley <>.

I would be very interested to determine if he and his family is connected to
the STATONs in my POOL family. They were in the Polk, Sebastian, and Scott
Co., AR area from 1850 - 1900. Please contact me if you have any possible
knowledge on this.

DOYLE STATON

GRAVOIS MILLS, MO - Doyle F. Staton, 79, of Gravois Mills, MO, died
Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Columbia, MO. He was born Jan. 13, 1922, in
Cecil. He was educated in Branch and graduated from University of Arkansas
and was a retired mortgage banker for Norwest Corporation, an Air Corps
veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church in Laurie.
Funeral was held Sunday in First Baptist Church in Laurie with burial at
Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie under the direction of Kidwell-Garber
Funeral Home of Laurie, MO. He is survived by his wife, Eulema; a daughter,
Brenda Joyce Hughes of Gravois Mills, MO; a son, James Edward Staton of
Brentwood, TN; four sisters, Eula Mae King, Audrey Kuykendall and Rita Gray,
all of Fort Smith, and Auida Torres of Manteca, CA; a brother, Grady Staton
of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers
were his grandchildren.
