This isn't my line, but I checked my resources to see what might pop up. Your James William Wingfield registered for the draft in Nevada County, Ark., in 1917 and stated that his birthday was Dec 25, 1892, and stated that he had a wife and three kids and was working for a Major Porter.

In the 1930 Nevada Co. Arkansas census, he's living with family in Boughton. He's 38, his wife Maggie is 37. They have kids: James O. 17 yrs; Ellis O. 16 yrs; Sudie (or Sadie) M. 14 yrs; Flora M. 12; Geneva 8 yrs.

In the 1920 Nevada Co. Arkansas census, he's 28 and living in Boughton with wife Maggie E. (27) and kids: Otis 7; Ellis 6; and the infant twins Sadie and Flora.

On the same page, above, are his father, James W. Wingfield(62), and his step-mother, Nancy (64); and his older brother Ezekiel T. Wingfield and Ezekiel's wife and kids.

How do I know Nancy J. was James W. Sr.'s second wife and James W. Jr.'s step-mother? Because there's an Arkansas marriage record for J. W. Wingfield and (Mrs.) Nancy J. Harris, married 25 Feb 1900, Nevada Co., Ark. In addition, in 1910 Nevada Co., Arkansas census, it says James W. and Nancy J. Wingfield had been married 10 year and that Nancy had had 10 kids, 8 of whom were living at the time. Your James W. Wingfield Jr. wasn't in the house with them, though. He was 18 and in the house with his brother Ezekiel, sister-in-law Maud, and niece Hazel.

In 1900 Boughton, Nevada Co., Arkansas census, James W. (43 yrs) and Nancy J. Winfield (44 yrs) have the following people in their house: Ezekiel (14 yrs), Susie (11 yrs), Jimmie (8 yrs), Isabella (5 yrs), and Rosa (2 yrs)... all are Wingfield kids; AND Lonzo Harris (20 yrs), Addie Harris (18 yrs); Nannie Harris (16 yrs); Tommie Harris (13 yrs), and Perry Harris (22 yrs). The Harris kids are listed as Step-children.

There is no 1890 census. There's a second Arkansas marriage record for J.W. Wingfield, to Belle Calhoun on 22 Dec 1886, in Nevada County. That would make Belle Calhoun Wingfield mother to Ezekiel, Susie, James W. Jr., Isabella, and Rosa. My wild guess is that Belle died when giving birth to Rosa, leaving James W. Sr. widower with 5 kids which may have motivated him to marry the widow Nancy J. Harris.

In 1910 Boughton, Nevada Co., Arkansas census is this family:

Luther L. Kelly (47 yrs) 1st marriage, Nancy E. Kelly (43 years) 2nd marriage. They had been married 5 years in 1910 and Nancy had had 14 kids, 5 of whom were surviving in 1910. In the house with Luther and Nancy were the following children:
Margaret E. Maxel, stepdaughter, 17 yrs
Alice E. Maxel, stepdaughter, 12 yrs
Amie L. Maxel, stepdaughter, 12 yrs
Ida M. Maxel, stepdaughter, 10 yrs
Rosa L. Maxel, stepdaughter, 6 yrs

You can take it from there.
