Jeri, my 2g grandfather claimed to be a Confederate veteran. He died in
1941 so should have gotten a pension for many years if he actually was a
veteran. I found a couple of pension aps for the same first name, both were
Union and neither was in AR. He lived in Trumann, AR and was there on 1910,
1920 census, I think. 1880 census was Coldwater, Cross Co., AR. He died in
Oct, 1941, in TN, I think, and claimed to be born in St. Louis, MO, Georgia
and Germany on different census reports. I believe his dob was October or
December, 1846.
I never found him on any census before 1880. Can you please see if there is
anything on a Hiram/Hyrum Frederick/Fredrick Christy/Christie/Crista (with
any kind of spelling imaginable)?
Thank you!
Christy Townsend
