I've been doing research since before I was 8 years old. I'm a grandmother now.
I've solved alot of family questions, including finding the answers to many closed family adoptions that "could never, ever be found out, so I might as well give up". I just love it when people tell me it's impossible. Those words do something to stir my soul!
I've been listening to the arguing, but I can't figure out what started it. I missed something I guess. Anyway, I just wanted to send out some encouragement here.
Don't let anyone tell you that you have to look for your ancestors in any particular way. Suggestions are good, but there is no right way or wrong way.
As for wrong information, we all get wrong information here and there. So what. That's the way it goes. At least the wrong information makes you dig deeper, and as you dig deeper and deeper into that family root system, you'll eventually find out the truth.
As far as the aruging, I guess that can be a good thing too, as long as it doesn't get to far out of hand. At least we're still communicating, even if I don't know what we're communicating about.
So good for us! We're still communicating. That means that we still care.
A special congradulations to everyone who gives encouragement to another person! You totally rock!

Hi,
I have a cousin that has been doing research there and has wrote alot of
letters and didn't get much of anything. She has called the research libaray
there and after a few times she got a person who helps in the research
departmant for free 3 days a week and now she is finding what others there
said wasn't there. I don;t know if she found someone better at research or
as she said someone that really did look and did care to help her. Try
calling it seems to work alot better then letters.
