Subject: Wheatland/Pearson - NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

My resolution is perseverance.
It was sheer perseverance that found my great grandmother.
Granddad (George Wheatland) died in Arkansas and all the records indicated
that grdma's name was Mary (Siloam Spring Cemetery records) but I couldn't
find that she actually died there. Additionally, I knew her name to be
Esther so I could only assume that Mary was either her first or middle name.
As it turns out this name is also on the headstone with granddad. Well, I
just recently discovered grandma died in Colorado and is buried there. Her
name is Esther Jane and she died 2 years after granddad. She was living
with her daughter. Part of the mystery is solved but I may never know why
the name Mary is on the headstone with grandma's birth date.
There is still another mystery that may or not be resolved. I don't know why
they ended up in Arkansas. They were married in Illinois; their children
went to Nebraska, Colorado and California. Of George's siblings that left
Illinois only one ended up in Arkansas and that was his sister Helen who
married Christopher Pearson. She is the only reason I can find that would
cause him to move to Arkansas. There does seem to be an extra close
relationship between them since my mother was apparently named after this
woman.
