George Lemon.
Jackson, Miss., Feb. 6 - Geo. Lemon, aged 82 years, one of the pioneer citizens of Jackson, passed away at his home on Gallatin Street last night. He was a native of Belfast, Ireland. In 1853 he came to Jackson from New Orleans, where he had been connected with railroading. He was a veteran of the Confederacy. After the war, Mr. Lemon returned here and entered in business until 1890, when he retired, having considerable property. He leaves three daughters, Mmes. Fredrick Sullens and Elizabeth Suggs, of Jackson and Mrs. A. G. Lewis and two sons, Geo. W. and Jas. K. Lemon of Chicago. His funeral will be held from the Presbyterian Church to-morrow.
