CAPTURE OF CREEKS

Band of Thirty-Two Heavily Armed Indians in Their Camp by Marshal’s Posse.

Muskogee, Indian Territory, Feb. 18.-

Nothing yet had been received from the home of Isparhecher, ex-Chief of the Creek Indians, who last night was surrounded in his home, near Beggs, Indian Territory, by twenty members of Crazy Snake’s band, who demanded the surrender of an American Flag. Deputies with a posse were unable to leave Eufaula until after 3 o’clock this morning, and as the scene of the trouble is off the railroad and telegraph, news is late. Deputy Grant Johnson telegraphs the marshal’s office here today that his posse has captured a band of heavily armed Creeks in their camp on Wolf Creek, near Henrietta. There are thirty-two in the band, among them being the principal chief, Lah-Tah-Micco, and Koh-Wak-To-Chee, the second chief, with members of their cabinets. The prisoners are being brought to the Muskogee Jail. The marshal has warrants for nearly 200 others. It is no secret that severe punishment awaits those arrested. There are a number of small bands roaming the country along Wolf Creek and dil!
